As most students don\u2019t know, flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning which aims to increase students\u2019 engagement and learning by having readings at home and work on live problem-solving during class times. This teaching method moves activities, including those that may have traditionally been considered homework, into the classroom. With a flipped classroom, students collaborate in presentations discussing the presentations topic and carry out research at home, while actively engaging concepts in the classroom, with the teachers\u2019 guidance. On the contrary, our day-by-day classes are conducted in a different way. Teachers’ knowledge is passed on to us, and we study the material before being evaluated.<\/p>\n

We have recently experienced the reality of having genuine work while engaging in Erasmus+ CiELO project activities, by showing our presentations while also learning and developing the themes we had. One of the most notable features of the flipped classroom was the opportunity to discuss some of the world \u2019s most challenging issues, such as sustainability, deforestation, and soil and water contamination. Secondly, we were able to work in groups, which contributed to the whole experience. We have managed to enrich our presentations and explore for more materials after choosing our favorite topic and listening to the teachers’ suggestions. I thought the activity was excellent since it deepened our connections with the issue and brought our minds together, making the activity worthwhile.<\/p>\n

Me and my friends, started off our presentation confidently, however we felt some crawling nervous feeling in our bodies but after starting presenting we have gathered and experienced some social skills which not only improved our presentation, but improved us personally, too, making our friendship even stronger We had a lot of satisfaction listening to the other students’ presentations since it was so much delight to see them step outside of their comfort zones and provide us with information on the topic.<\/p>\n

I believe that trying out new things is always a good idea, and in this case, teaching to our admired teachers and friends had a significant impact on everyone, not just me and my friends. In the end, everything turned out great and I\u2019m glad that I can say I have gained confidence and that I have participated in this project.<\/p>\n
